Illinois Film Services Tax Credit

To incentivize film production spending within the state, Illinois passed the Film Production Services Tax Credit Act of 2008 initially offering a transferable tax credit of 20% of all qualified costs.  For productions commencing on or after January 1, 2009, the credit was increased to 30% of all qualified costs.

The Act has since been amended in May 2011, extending the sunset of the credit for an additional 10 years, after which, the Act may be extended by 5-year intervals.
